The Justino Magalona Collection
Justino A. Magalona, Jr. began his visual arts career as a book illustrator,
graphic artist and photographer at a United Nations Refugee Processing Center in the Philippines from 1990 to 1994.
In 1994, he and his wife moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to work as a graphic designer for BBDO Worldwide Ad agency. His family immigrated to Canada in June of 2001, unable to find work in the advertising industry, he took odd jobs to make ends meet.
In 2012, his wife Araceli asked him to buy her a Nikon DSLR as her Christmas gift. When he gave her the gift on Christmas day, she gave back the gift to him and said, "It is really for you Justino, go on pursue your passion and love for the art." And he did.
Justino is an artist and photographer based in Milton, Ontario, Canada.
His works varies from wildlife, landscape, portraiture, illustration and painting.
10 of his major works are part of permanent display on the walls of Milton District Hospital.
